A River Journey can be intriguing, sweeping, dramatic, romantic, bold, and thoroughly unexpected.  In our 102nd year – in a community defined by a river – the Quad City Symphony Orchestra will embark on a watery foray exploring rivers around the world through their expressive musical depictions.

Our river adventure begins right at home in Reflections on the Mississippi, the startling and evocative tuba concerto by Iowa’s own Michael Daugherty and featuring Minnesota Orchestra’s Steve Campbell. Our season opener begins with the swashbuckling audience favorite Richard Strauss’ Don Juan, and concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony #3, Eroica.
