On the heels of the release of her Four Seasons: The Vivaldi Album, Avery Fisher Career Grant-winner Anne Akiko Meyers joins the Orchestra in Vivaldi’s famous and fiery Four Seasons. She has been called a “master violinist” and “passionate performer” and her sound has been described as “a tone so pure that it emerges just a few times in a generation.” Experience it live as Joseph Giunta conducts Meyers and the Orchestra through the Seasons: storms rumble and roar in Summer, and glittering pizzicato notes in the highest registers depict Winter’s icy snow. The all-Italian program concludes with a different image of nature – the mighty Pines of Rome – with the sonic grandeur and orchestral force of your Des Moines Symphony raising the roof at the Civic Center! Kemin Industries, Inc. is the Guest Artist Sponsor for this program.
