Janene Kessler – Director of Bands, Lake Forest High School
“Inviting Will Baker to work with my students and teach private lessons was one of the best decisions I ever made! His exceptional musicianship, integrity, and straightforward manner draws students in and inspires them to make a commitment to excellence in their own playing. He transformed my low brass section into a group where taking lessons and working hard are the norm, and his students share the wisdom and practice techniques they have learned from Will with other students as leaders in my ensembles. No other private teacher has had as big an impact on my program!”

Pam Holt – Director of Bands, Maine East High School
“Will Baker is the most successful private teacher during the 8 years I’ve been the band director at Maine East High School. Many private teachers are great players, some are great teachers, but Will is both of those plus the (necessary) added bonuses of being super organized, having great communication skills with teenagers and their parents, having fun, and being very flexible… His students ranged from beginner students switching to low brass to help overall instrumentation to outstanding players that are successfully playing in college, some as majors, many not – just lovers of music, trombone, low brass and playing…Will Baker has been an integral part of the success of the bands at Maine East High School and will be greatly missed. Any teacher looking to hire or student looking to study low brass should look no further than Will Baker.”
